John Cage: Experimental Book is a small booklet made for a class titled Book Design.
This booklet was created for an assignment focusing on the works of John Cage and uses his autobiography as the text. I focused on taking inspiration from John Cage’s notes and art. In his notes he often times had scribbles and words jotted down all over the page, at times overlapping and mixed in with music. I wanted to recreate the feeling with this abstract booklet, breaking apart text, photos and scattering them across the page in a way that almost feels like it doesn’t make sense while keeping a little bit of structure.
