Pollen is a magazine created in a class titled Publication Design. As a semester long project each student designs and prints an entire magazine, coming up with the theme and title themselves along with sourcing all of the content.
Pollen is meant to inspire, shine a light on the experiences of people who may not see themselves as often in media. Those featured are feminist thinkers, providing thoughtful words on their experiences and hardships to an audience that can relate or learn from. The purpose of Pollen is to ensure the reader knows they are not alone. The title comes from the idea that one person may read an article and share it with a friend, and that friend may share it with another friend, and so on. Similarly to the way that pollen spreads. The design focuses on white space and the different relationships that can be created on the page.
